Production Engineering for Production Supervisors

(5 days)

For: Field production supervisors interested in the quality control that comes from more knowledge of how your work and your data contributes to profitability

Many field supervisors carry out and submit tests and investigative data, then carry out instructions and procedures, written for them. Quality Control experts call this "throwing it over the wall." Effective and profitable partnership is accomplished by having the field supervisor know how his work originates and how it is used. You get better results when the supervisor knows how tests translate into reserves, production schedules and budgets. You get better data when the supervisor knows how it is used and why it is important. When he knows more about the area, he can better insure that the data is good data.

The course is taught from logic and common sense, not elaborate equations or heavy science. This is one of the paths to Total Quality Management.

Major Topics Covered:

  • Geology

  • What Determines Productivity

  • The Production Equipment Role

  • Logging

  • Determining Reserves and Future Life
