Gas Lift Design & Optimization

(5 days)

For: Engineers with a basic understanding of fluid mechanics, fluid properties and gas lift principles

Get the latest technology available in multi-phase flow and inflow well performance, whether vertical, horizontal or inclined. Learn to translate that into superior gas lift results through the concept of total system design or total system troubleshooting. There is a balance between lecture and problem-solving, as well as between theory and application. Emphasis is placed on continuous flow, intermittent lift, valve mechanics and trouble spots in singles and duals.

Two sets of gradient curves will be available for use in lectures and problem-solving sessions. This course presumes basic knowledge of gas lift operations and troubleshooting.

Major Topics Covered:

  • Inflow Performance

  • Multi-Phase Flow

  • Gas Behavior and Effects

  • Valve Mechanics

  • Continuous Flow

  • Intermittent Lift

  • Fluid Operated Valves vs. Casing Pressure Operation

  • Systems Analysis
