De-Watering Gas Wells

(5 days)

For: Field foremen, lease operators, and engineers who want to get more gas from oil wells.

You will find gas wells loaded with water that you didn't know about after you see how easy it is to determine.  You find out how much gas you are missing and how much income is lost.

You discover the weakness of some of the software and how easy it is to overcome. You find out it can all be determined with high school math and common sense. The course is designed for new or experienced engineers and delivered for perfect understanding by field supervisors with high school training.

Plunger lift will be demystified. You will know when it will work and where it won't. You will learn to troubleshoot all those that stop working or work poorly.  You learn when to apply foam and how to arrive at the best choice.

When you dewater with rod pumps, you learn how to avoid gas lock and sand jams.  You recognize the best places for PCP's and how to keep from getting overcome with solids settling in the CBM wells.  You learn where it is best to use hydraulic pumps, jet pumps, ESP's or gas lift. Put each in its right application!

Major Topics Covered:

  • Gas Well Productivity Index

  • How to get the real critical rate

  • How to troubleshoot with acoustic soundings

  • How to initiate and optimize plunger lift

  • What can be done with foam

  • Solving Rod Pumping problems

  • When to use PCP's, gas lift, hydraulic lift, jet pumps or ESP's
