College of Production Practices

For: Operations superintendents and engineers (or their equivalent), who have responsibility for bottom line results on production operations or surface equipment. First-rate production technicians with good math skills should be able to pass if they work diligently.

Diploma Awarded:
A special DIPLOMA OF PRODUCTION PRACTICES will be awarded to those who satisfactorily complete the five weeks shown in bold print below, along with any three of the remaining courses. Satisfactory completion will require passing grades on daily homework assigned, passing grades on comprehensive tests given at the end of each week, and satisfactory class participation in the judgment of the instructors. The diploma will reflect the class average attained and the class standing of the delegate, if requested.

Structure of the College:
The College program is designed as a series of eight to ten one-week courses, five of which are mandatory to cover the most important elements of every production operation. A diploma is awarded upon successful completion of three elective courses in addition to the five required courses. From the elective category, delegates are encouraged to select the three that are most relevant and appropriate to their current assignment. This allows the elimination of topics without immediate application or those for which duplicate training has been received elsewhere.

Breaks within the curriculum provide a much needed change from the continual classroom schedule. Field trips or something similar could be arranged for those “off” weeks, if desired.

Partial Attendance:
Registration may be transferred from one person to another, but the College program must be attended wholly by each person enrolled. If a delegate must drop out due to personal or company emergency, provision will be made for make-up at a subsequent College.

Accommodations:
For each session, a group of sleeping rooms has been tentatively reserved for participants. Our office will book rooms if a request is made two weeks prior to course date. Rooms will not be guaranteed for late arrival unless arrangements are made directly with the hotel. Registration fee does not include meals or lodging, but a light lunch is available for those who do not wish to go out.

Important Note:
All courses are limited in attendance in order to allow for ample discussion and personal participation. This is doubly important for this training series, which offers individual coaching and testing. Each delegate should bring a hand-held calculator.
